About Us

About Leicester House Gallery,

who are we, where have we come from and why?

Leicester House Gallery is the product of imagination created by a family run team, Mum, a daughter and a daughter in (out) law, it all came about over a cup of tea overlooking Freshwater East bay (of which there are many) when the opportunity to combine our varied creative and business backgrounds (they vary from retail and textiles to business and tourism) was suggested.

Our aim was to curate and sell the work of Welsh artisans and celebrate the rich, diverse talent and creativity found within Wales alongside our own work too! At the beginning of November 2017 we opened the doors of our beautiful little gallery shop in the building that had been a longstanding family (our family) accountants. We are on Main Street nestled amongst the unique, independent business community here in the historic walls of Pembroke town and with the support of our wonderful customers we haven’t looked back. Slowly as we grow we have added handpicked gifts and interior accessories that compliment the artwork and have become official stockists for the versatile chalk paintTM range created by Annie Sloan in 1990.

In 2019 we added creative workshops to the gallery and frequently run classes in linoprinting, woodblockprinting, Annie Sloan chalk paint™ techniques, lampshade making, silk papermaking, giftwrap printing and jewellery making from our studio, these classes have proved inspirational for both the teachers and the students.

As a small company are fully aware how fortunate we are to be surrounded by the beauty of the Pembrokeshire coast and countryside which we believe is evident as you slowly and peacefully walk around the gallery soaking up the art work that is so heavily inspired by our surroundings. We are very conscious of our impact on these special places and have moved fully towards being plastic free as a business. Our packaging is all now made from recycled materials and where possible we recycle all packaging from our deliveries. We use biodegradable card and print wraps. Our artists and makers share our dream of a plastic free world so it is amazing to pass it onto our customers too.

If you are an artist or maker who would like to sell their work with us please get in touch we are always on the lookout for new work to add to our growing collection.

If you are a customer, thank you for visiting and supporting us, we are grateful as a small independent retailer for your visit.
